Evangeline Dennie's work focuses on green building design as a design architect, as well as consensus driven goal setting and implementation as sustainability consultant. High performance design is fundamental to Evangeline's architecture, furniture, products and interiors. Her approach to design includes investigating and reconceptualizing site-specific spatial concepts, materials, imagery, objects, landscapes, light, and the environmental impacts of design decisions. Architectural designs include residential, hospitality, commercial, non-profits, and institutional buildings. One of Dennie's most recent designs included the concept and layout for the interim memorial at Ground Zero, called the Tribute Center. She documented hundreds of artifacts recovered from the WTC site through sketches and photos for potential use in the interior space. Dennie also proposed layouts for 3,000+ names of the victims who perished. She also coordinated the product specifications to ensure all the finishes and particleboard had low-VOC content and materials had recycled content. Evangeline Dennie, LEED AP, studied sustainability academically since the mid-90s and has been intimately involved in its implementation since 2003. Dennie worked with Hillary Brown, AIA, one of the main contributors to transforming New York City to the Big Green Apple. Together, they co-authored two High Performance Building Guidelines, one for K-12 schools and the other for college campuses. Dennie collaborated with Brown and energy consultants to facilitate charrettes between the architects, engineers, landscape architects, and contractors at each design submission for 10+ new and renovated schools in New Haven, CT. Dennie also helped Brown to develop a documentary film about the green building process for non-profits for the Kresge Foundation and Non-Profit Finance Fund. Download Evangeline Dennie's resume. Current green consulting projects include services as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) project manager and independent consultant for two Fortune 500 companies in Manhattan: one of which is utilizing the LEED EB rating system to green their facilities management; the other employs LEED CI for new commercial interiors of an investment bank.
